‘Anti-blast’ Devices Installed at Udupi Sri Krishna Temple

Udupi Sept 3: Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji of Paryaya Puttige Math said on Tuesday that four anti-blast devices had been installed to protect the sanctum sanctorum of the Sri Krishna Math/Temple.

Addressing presspersons here, the swamiji said that these devices would prevent explosions through wireless devices. The devices had been installed by V. Rakshaa Company which would also look after their maintenance, he added.

Director of the company S. Ananth said that under the Sundara Udupi, Subhadra Udupi project, the company would be setting up eight central monitoring stations.

Offices of the Superintendent of Police, the Deputy Superintendent of Police and all police stations would be equipped with modern security hardware and software along with a dedicated telephone line, complimented and maintained by the company, he said. The aim was to make Udupi a crime-free city with the help of the latest technology, he added.

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will launch the project here on September 14, he said. Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will preside over the inaugural function and Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes and the State Home Minister V.S. Acharya will be guests.
