Spring is upon us and that means it’s time for the Festival of Colors. The Festival of Colors is an annual celebration of the Holi Festival. Holi Festival is an ancient Hindu festival that commemorates Radha Krishna’s love as well as the triumph of virtue over evil. The Holi Festival began in India and has now spread throughout the world.

Since 1989, the Festival of Colors at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple has been a popular site for Holi celebrations among residents and visitors from other states. Attendees toss colorful cornstarch powder into the air, listen to live music, chant, and dance at the festival. The  Temple expects 10,000 visitors at this year’s Festival of Colors, according to Charu Das, the festival’s coordinator. “I think it will be as much fun as it always is, but even a little more new and educational as well,” Charu Das said. “We’ve also got some Indian classical dance that we haven’t had for a long time. We’re bringing that back a little bit, a breather from all the high energy dancing so people can sit down for 20 minutes on the hillside, catch their breath and watch beautiful grace and movement on the stage.”

Upcoming festival locations include; April 16th in Las Vegas, Nevada,  May 14th in Ogden, Utah, and June 11th in Salt Lake City, Utah.  For more information please visit Festival of Colors
